SCHEDULE (3/15/2019)

The 2019 meeting of the Pacific Division of the American Society of Aesthetics will be the division’s first meeting in a new venue, the Berkeley City Club in Berkeley, CA. (http://berkeleycityclub.com/) In relocating the meeting, we hope to make the Pacific Division meeting more accessible and affordable for participants, while also refocusing the meeting on what has made it great in the past: in-depth, long-form discussion of the best new work in aesthetics and the philosophy of art. The new location is an historic property, designed by Julia Morgan (who also designed Asilomar). It is a few blocks from a BART stop, which we hope will encourage more attendance from those in the Bay area and those flying into Bay area airports.

We are pleased to announce the keynote speaker for the 2019 meeting: Professor Elisabeth Camp. Camp is Professor of Philosophy at Rutgers University; she has published on extensively on metaphor, the imagination, and engagement with fiction.
