Dear Fellow Aestheticians, It is my great pleasure to invite you to the ASA's 78th Annual Meeting, November 9-14, 2020. In this pandemic year, we will be holding our very exciting (we hope) first virtual Annual Meeting. We hope that some of pains of the on-line format can be at least partially compensated for by the greater accessibility. To encourage this, the ASA has elected to lower registration fees for the virtual meeting. The meeting will include:
*Arthur Danto Memorial Lecture by Joyce Scott *Presidential Lecture by Susan Feagin *The three winning essays for the Peter Kivy Prize *Virtual social sessions including open-chat lunch sessions, aesthetics joke hour, aesthetics show-and-tell, and a talent show! The program committee’s special goal this year was to help forge new connections – with other parts of philosophy, other academic fields, and other art communities. This year’s invited panels are all intended to foster this interdisciplinary – putting aestheticians in dialogue with philosophers of language, ethicists, sociologists, musicologists, art-activists, and more.
To join us, please register. Full program and registration at: https://aesthetics-online.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=830690 Although you need to be an ASA member, registration is only $10 ($5 for students and those presently lacking full-time employment). Please note that ASA has adopted lower membership rates for GREEN members.
If you have already registered, thank you. In the days before the meeting commences, you will receive email instructions for logging in to the meeting.
Thanks very much, C. Thi Nguyen Program Chair American Society For Aesthetics 1550 Larimer St. #644 Denver, CO 80202-1602
