The editors of ASAGE, the ASA Graduate E-Journal, have issued a Call for Papers and Comments for the Spring 2022 issue. The submission deadline is March 15, 2022:

https://asageorg.wordpress.com/

ASAGE is an electronic graduate journal sponsored by the American Society for Aesthetics. We publish advanced graduate work in aesthetics and the philosophy of art.

  • We invite submissions for our Spring 2022 Edition.
  • We are in need of commentators for fast philosophy articles (see below for more details)

Submissions are due March 15th, 2022 and can be submitted to asa.graduate.ejournal@gmail.com

Call for submissions for the Winter 2022 Edition:

ASAGE is a non-traditional graduate journal. We welcome paper submissions from graduate students. However, we recognize that this is not always the best way a graduate journal can serve as a resource in the current hyper-competitive job market. Making ASAGE useful to graduate students in aesthetics is our primary goal. ASAGE therefore accepts various kinds of submissions including, but not limited to:

  1. Traditional scholarly papers – 3000 words, 5000 for historical papers
  2. Book reviews of recently published works in aesthetics and the philosophy of art
  3. Dissertation abstracts from M.A. students, current PhD students, and recent PhD recipients
  4. Interviews with faculty members in aesthetics
  5. Conference Reports
  6. Artworks by philosophers for our cover images

    And our popular:

  7. Fast Philosophy Submissions

A Fast Philosophy submission can be a maximum of 1000 words. The submission should raise a question or present a nascent idea or underexplored topic in aesthetics. Replies to initial submission will then be solicited in order to facilitate a discussion between graduate students and professors. The initial submission and replies will be published as a set. We envision Fast Philosophy pieces as an online supplement to the kind of research development often done at conferences, where students can make connections and share resources, develop and refine their arguments, and strengthen papers to submit to other journals for publication.

See the guidelines for submission here: https://asageorg.wordpress.com/2018/05/15/submissions/

Call for Commentators:

We are also currently in need of commentators for Fast Philosophy articles. Comments are short, 500 word responses to fast philosophy submissions that are published alongside the submissions in the journal. If you are interested in providing comments please e-mail us at asa.graduate.ejournal@gmail.com with you name, areas of expertise and areas of interest.

ASAGE is firmly committed to the principles of open access; access, submission, and subscription to the journal are all free of charge.
