The ASA Diversity Committee (DivCom) announces formation of a reading group on Paul C. Taylor's Black is Beautiful: A Philosophy of Black Aesthetics (Wiley-Blackwell, 2016). The Committee envisions meeting two times a semester this academic year (for a total of four times over 2022-23) to discuss the book.

 

Participants are responsible for acquiring their own copy of the book.

We plan to have more reading groups after this iteration, and we're open to suggestions for readings.  One possibility is a book on Islamic aesthetics.
