The ASA invites nominations (including self-nominations) for the leadership of the ASA Mentoring Project, for a two-year term commencing in January 2024.
The Mentoring Project was initiated several years ago by the ASA Diversity Committee. Previous leadership included Keren Gorodeisky, James Harold, and E. Hande Tuna. By mutual agreement with the leadership of the Diversity Committee, the ASA Trustees
established the Mentoring Project as a standing Committee of the ASA at the Trustee meeting December 4, 2023.
The terms of office will be two years, with eligibility for reappointment for up to a total of six years. The Project leader or co-leaders may recruit a committee membership, at their discretion, to assist with the project. The scope of the Committee
responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, designing and implementing programs appropriate for mentoring at the ASA, such as a mentoring breakfast at the Annual Meeting.
Nominations should be sent to James Shelley, Vice-President of the ASA, at shelljr@auburn.edu. They will be reviewed by the Appointments Committee, with appointment by the Board of Trustees. Nominations should include a letter explaining interest and experience relevant to the responsibilities. Nominations should be received no later than
December 22, 2023.
