At a meeting held in Gui’yang on October 18, 1995 hosted by Shandong Society for Aesthetics, it was decided to launch an academic periodical for Oriental Aesthetics and Culture. All the participants hope that oriental aesthetics will serve for human beings all over the world. Thus there were four subjects in the meeting: classical Chinese aesthetics and traditional Chinese culture; traditional Chinese aesthetics for literature and art; the thoughts of famous classical Chinese aestheticians; traditional Chinese applied aesthetics.
