Dr. Charles Peterson is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Africana Studies at Oberlin College. His book Beyond Civil Disobedience: Social Nullification and Black Citizenship (African American Philosophy and the African Diaspora) was published by Palgrave MacMillan. He is also Director of the Gertrude B. Lemle Teaching and Scholarship Center
